Tennesse’s first ‘Eat the Frog Fitness’ center soon will open in Brentwood’s Hill Center at 205 Franklin Road. It’s designed to deliver highly personalized, exercise workouts in a studio setting.

Beth Stromatt will operate the new 3,071-square foot studio, which is the concept’s 33rd location. The studio was founded by 2008 Olympic gold medalist Bryan Clay and longtime fitness executive Joe Culver.

The company’s name comes from Mark Twain’s famous saying:  ‘If you eat a live frog first thing each morning, nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.’

“Fitness is most people’s ‘frog,’ it’s what they procrastinate about the most. Eat the Frog Fitness members across the country that follow the prescribed personalized workout plan are achieving faster and longer-lasting results as opposed to what they realized with their former fitness routines,” Beth says.

“We’re thrilled to bring the first Eat the Frog Fitness to Tennessee in Brentwood,” she adds.

Beth says she searched for a fitness concept that was unique and new to Williamson County. She’s been a Williamson County resident for the past 15 years. “Bryan and Joe’s approach to helping people achieve their fitness goals over the long term was especially appealing,” she says.

“Our approach empowers members to build and maintain their fitness growth,” she adds. “This program threw out the old metrics and rewrote the playbook to provide a completely different experience from what people typically experience at gyms and through personal training.”

Beth will offer complimentary consultations.

She affirms that her team will focus on small group training that combines athletic-inspired training, cutting edge technology, and the science of human bodies for advanced workouts.

The center’s programs divide into four main efforts:

  • Flexcore sessions to improve power, agility, core muscle strength, posture, balance, stability, and coordination.
  • Strength sessions use Nubell weights, Alpha sandbags and the TRX training system to build strength and tone muscle while also improving bone density and promoting fat-free body mass. These sessions are designed to help participants get stronger, burn more calories, boost energy levels and prevent disease.
  • Cardio sessions expand workout capacities by using a combination of Concept II Rowers and Keiser Spin Bikes. This proprietary combination of low impact and high intensity equipment allows people to train harder and smarter.
  • Recovery exercises are encouraged and used after every session, using a combination of Trigger Point rollers and state-of-the-art stretching and recovery exercises—all with the goal of decreasing risks of injuries.

Beth says the studio’s certified lead trainer is Megan Jox, who has 11 years of personal training experience. Megan has had a wide range of clients from high school athletes to immobile elderly. She also previously worked at Mercy Ministries in Nashville as the fitness manager.

Additionally, Beth says they will have coach-lead classes at all the typical times, but also will offer virtual classes every hour to meet every schedule.
