Reading the Polar Express and Lighting the Brentwood Tree

Hie thee hither with kith and kin to the Brentwood Library, o ye lovers of stories and lights. This swirling orb on which we live has completed yet another circumnavigation of the sun, and ’tis time once more to illuminate the evergreen and to hear the silver bell. Come join the library’s annual tree lighting and listen to the story of The Polar Express, read aloud inside at 5 and 6 p.m. All free, but you’ll need tickets for the readings. Contact Brigid Day at 615.371.0090 ext. 8510.

Brentwood High School Wrestling Comes Alive!

When Brentwood High first opened in 1982, the wrestling team shared practice space with the band. Judging by the team’s record, the band might as well have been doing the wrestling. But that was then, and this is now. Ranked third in the state pre-season, the team enjoys its own training facility and expert coaching from Damon Smith and Jordan Loy, former wrestlers at Oklahoma State University and Iowa University. Last year, the team beat Father Ryan for the first time in school history. The big rematch is Dec. 14 at 6 p.m.!

Our Brentwood Big Mac’s Back and Better than Ever

The McDonald’s at 109 E. Park Drive recently celebrated its relaunching. On the menu were lots of specials, giveaways and a fundraiser for the Public Safety Trust Fund to assist Brentwood first responders. The new McDonald’s is a first-of-its-kind dining experience in Brentwood.

“We want to keep raising the bar in customer experience,” said local owner-operator Jemond Daughtry.

New features include modern decor, digital menus, table service, energy-efficient LED lighting and free Wi-Fi. New kiosks make ordering easy. Guests can now browse the menu, find new options and customize their meals.
